ၼၢင်းၼၢင်း (Naang Naang) is a Burmese musician from Shan State, Myanmar. Her releases were prolific front-runners for the flowering Stereo music scene in Shan State. She performed with backing bands such as Tai Noom and Tunggabari Band as the lead singer. The lyrics in Shan Rock music from this time period were often laced with political undertones; as a result of this, most Shan music releases from the 70's and early 80's were underground operations put onto cassette by indie publishers/manufacturers, thus making information difficult to find with regards to Naang Naang. It can be estimated that she began releasing music in the mid-late 70's, as some of her backing bands had release years on their tapes. (1977, 1982.) Read more on Last.fm.
