チャットモンチー


チャットモンチー (chatmonchy) was a two-member (formerly three-member) pop-rock band from Tokushima, Tokushima, Japan, formed in 2000. Consisting of 橋本絵莉子 (Hashimoto Eriko) on guitar & lead vocals, 福岡晃子 (Fukuoka Akiko) on bass, and formerly 高橋久美子 (Takahashi Kumiko) on drums. They hail from Tokushima, one of Japan's most remote corners, on the smallest of the four main islands, Shikoku. In November 2005, they released a mini album, chatmonchy has come with Ki/oon Records. Some tracks from this album are included on their first proper album, 「耳鳴り」(Miminari), released in July 2006. With the release of the popular single 「シャングリラ」(Shangrila) in November 2006, the band gained more exposure and started to reach a wider audience. Since then they have released two singles,「女子達に明日はない」(Joshi-tachi ni Ashita wa nai) in April, and the double A-side 「とび魚のバタフライ / 世界が終わる夜に」(Tobiuo no Butterfly / Sekai ga Owaru Yori ni) in June. On September 5, the band releases the single Daidai (橙 ?). It debuts at number 12 on the Oricon single charts. On October 24, the band releases the album Seimeiryoku (生命力 ?). It debuts at number 2 on the Oricon album charts. On November 28, the band releases their first DVD, Chatmonchy Restaurant Appetizer (チャットモンチー レストラン 前菜 ?).
