Emi Hinouchi is a singer/songwriter from Osaka, Japan. Hinouchi was first signed to Tachytelic Records, a Cutting Edge/Avex sublabel managed by Taku Takahashi, and handled by the artist management company Artimage. Later she secured a deal with Venus-B, a sub-label of King Records, but parted ways with both her management and record label in 2009. Since then, Hinouchi has been releasing songs independently. Hinouchi has written many songs for Heartsdales, and has sung back up for those songs. Hinouchi is best known for her collaborations with m-flo. Hinouchi was born in Osaka. She spent her childhood in Taiwan from the age of 4 to 14. Hinouchi grew an interest for global and Japanese music. After returning to Japan, she started making music and writing lyrics and completed “Painful” at the age of 16. After that, she performed a lot of gigs as a vocalist with an indie band from Osaka. She presented “Painful” at an audition held by Taku Takahashi (from m-flo), who she was always a big fan of, and won. She debuted with “Magic/World”. Her first album “Dramatiques” was released in 2003. As of 2006, she has released 4 singles and 1 album. These days, she has been collaborating with m-flo, SOUL’d OUT, Heartsdales, Teriyaki Boyz and ENBULL.
