芳賀傑


Takashi Haga is a Japanese avant-garde composer. Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. Graduated from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music, majoring in composition. Upon graduation, he received the Outstanding Student Award and the Momoko Nakamura Award. After graduating from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music, he went to France in 2015 to study composition at the Conservatoire de Paris under Edith Canat de Chizy. While studying in Paris, he won the first prize and the audience prize at the 6th Coups de Vents International Symphonic Band Composition Competition for "Le Ciel dégradé se dissout à la surface de l'eau". He is the second Japanese ever to win the Grand Prix after Toshio Majima in 2006. This extremely complex work has been performed by professional and amateur wind ensembles all around the world, including the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra on its 60th anniversary tour, the Paris Garde Republiquaine, and the Finnish Defense Force Band. In 2022, "The Birds of Color" won first prize at the Orchestra di Fiati della Svizzera Italiana International Band Composition Competition in Lugano, Switzerland, where it was performed. The president of the jury was Franco Cesarini.
