Aki Kuroda was Born in Osaka. She graduated from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1982. She has participated in nearly all major performances and concerts with Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra and many others, both in Japan and abroad. Aside from classical renditions, she works in a variety of genres such as popular, tango, avant-garde, world music and so on... She won the 1st prizes at the 23rd French Music Competition in ‘93 and at the Contemporary Music Competition in ‘97 and selected the special interpretation award in Xavier Montsalvatge the 20th century Music Competition for Piano in ‘95. Kuroda is most widely known for her collaboration with Nobuo Uematsu on the Piano Collections disc for the award-winning game Final Fantasy X.
