Prúdy
Prúdy is a rock band formed in Bratislava, Slovakia in 1963. Zvonky Zvoňte (Ring Bells, Ring) by Prúdy (Currents or Streams) was a milestone in Slovak rock music. Scented Gardens of the Mind called Prúdy's album a Slovak response to Sgt. Pepper, an album full of charming pop songs with harmony vocals, lush orchestration and a hint of psychedelia. Their most appreciated songs were written by Marián Varga who went on to form Collegium Musicum. His characteristic keyboard ornaments were already recognizable at this early stage. Prúdy then went by Pavol Hammel & Prúdy in the years 1969-1974, before breaking up altogether with Pavol Hammel going on to do solo work. Personnel: Pavol Hammel (rhythm guitar, lead vocals); Marián Varga (piano, organ); Fedor Frešo (bass, vocals); Peter Saller (guitar); Vlado Mallý (drums). Read more on Last.fm.
