Hvangur was formed in November 1998, when was composed the first songs for demo-album The Dale of Ice Winds. After a lapse of two years it became possible to recording the accumulated music material. For that moment in record was took part Logabor, Sventoyar, Lamia (femal voice). The concept of the first record is based on mythology of European peoples and antichristian philosophy. Texts are completed in Russian and English languages. This demo-album was self-released about 30-35 copies. For 2001 year was prepared a material, sufficient for record of two albums. Selective compositions entered into second demo Hvangur Blood and Ashes. In record took part Logabor and Sventoyar. Sounding can be characterized, as enough crude black/doom metal with presence of different types of vocal performance. The concept of songs is didicated to fight for the revival of Native Faith. The author of several texts is Veleslav. In autumn of 2002 year in the same studio was made secondary mix Blood and Ashes. In December were signed the contract for release of this album with Cd-Maximum. The official release was made on February, 17/2003. By early 2010 band completed recording their next album witch was named By Will and Spirit. In october the band decided to release the album on their own label Fear and Pray and release took place on Dec. 4, 2010. Read more on Last.fm.
