真矢ミキ / 真矢みき/ Miki Maya* (born 31 January 1964, Hiroshima) is a former otokoyaku (male role player) in Japan's famous all-women musical theatre company, Takarazuka. She joined in 1981 and became famous as half of the 'golden combi' ヤンミキ (Yanmiki) she formed with Mira Anju (安寿ミラ). In 1995 she became top star of the Flower Troupe ( 花組) , leaving ('graduating') in 1998. In her post-Takarazuka career Miki Maya has been a successful actor (mostly on TV and in films) and TV presenter. In 1998 she performed a concert at the famous Budokan arena (Miki In Budokan) to a sell-out audience of 30,000. In 2021 she was one of the performers at the opening ceremony for the delayed 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. She is married (as of 2008) to the ballet dancer Kazuhiro Nishijima (西島千博). However, the name order is usually reversed ('Miki Maya') when her name is written out alphabetically. This is true even on products for the Japanese market.
