27brigade

UK

27brigade were a 4 piece band from Leicester active from 2005 until 2008. Playing dirty rock 'n' roll with a passionate heart beating inside, 27brigade had been described as Dirty Pretty Things dancing with Black Rebel Motorcycle club at the best disco in town and was essentially music to administer a beating to. 2 EPs were produced in very limited numbers - Love Songs For Dead Lovers and The End Of British Summertime, which included the song Love Twist The Gift which was featured on the Sky programme Race To Dakar and on Channel 4's Freesports On 4. The band comprised Andy Billington (Vocals/Guitar), John Alexander (Bass/Vocals), Adam Corbinzolu (Guitar) and Barney Wilds (Drums) and drew their influences from many different sources and influences personal to each member. The band created songs together and used their audiences as their best judges of what was good and what was not. Their repertoire ranged from the ska-styled (How To) Kill A Chelsea Boy to the dirty, slide guitar laced English Skies and covered subjects such as mental illness, the world wars, drug abuse, Kate and Pete and finding love on a railway platform. 27brigade mainly entertained audiences in the East Midlands, including opening for acts including The Young Knives, Good Books, Dogs, The Kissaway Trail, Parka and Cazals. Adam is currently involved in a new music project, John and Barney continue to provide corporate entertainment in a party band and Andy's wherabouts are currently unknown. Read more ...
