:DFace, real name Garrett Hickey, (now known as DFace without the column) is a electronic music producer from the US. From his beginnings as a proficient rock guitarist and drummer, :DFACE made a huge cross-genre leap when his pervasive love of EDM lead him to temporarily set aside the guitar, bass and drums in 2011. In a matter of months, this self-taught producer and longtime musician was getting the nod from some well-established names in the EDM world for his abilities, innovation, and stylistic sound. In a short time, :DFACE’s casual music making was quickly scooped up for a formal release and his EDM career was officially underway. Signing with a reputable independent label after just 2 months of production, :DFACE received immediate support and acclaim as this swift jump lead him from the bedroom studio to the #15 spot of Beatport’s Top 100 Electro House Releases chart.
