Agitators


Agitators are a street-punk band from Moscow, Russia. Playing Rancid style since 2006 Website: http://www.agitators.ru http://www.myspace.com/agitatorsru The band appeared in the beginning of 2006 and consisted of 3 friends, who had been grown up on the same street and had gone to the same school in a town Reutov, situated near Moscow. Lads played experimental music: a mixture of grunge/postpunk and garage. While having given occasional concerts in almost DIY conditions and having perceived itself, the band had been making first steps, gaining experience, changing its musical preferences and, in the same time, its sounding. With such a membership, the band recorded an album The streets (which finally wasn't issued), which touched upon the problems of suburbian ghetto and risky streets of lads' native town. The end of this period of the band's existing was marked by meeting on one of the Agitators' rehearsals Aleksey Red, who happened to go there by chance, having left his previous band because of the issues in the views on punk music and punk culture and in the band's materials. They got acquainted and found a lot of common, having played some cavers of their favorite bands (Rancid has been remaining one of them since nowadays), so they decided to work together.
