Alliat

Alliat (Aðalsteinn Atli Guðmundsson) was born in Reykjavík, Iceland 1983 and has always had a thing for good music. Alliat is influenced by artists such as Boards of Canada, Múm, Björk, Future Sound of London and Moby. Also, Alliat listens to a wide range of musical genres that may give a little extra flavor to his music. Alliat is an aspiring musician and hasn't had any big official hits yet although a couple of comedic online releases like Gunnarskaffi (which features samples of a seemingly deranged minister of a local religious cult) and Gaaas (which is composed around samples of a mad riot police officer threatening protesters with pepper spray) that gained local popularity. Alliat's general style of music is calm and eerie with strong beats but he has also been known to stray away from his style on occasion. Alliat often tries to portray an event, object, a dream or a place with his music seeking inspiration locally. For example the songs Tourmaline (which is a type of crystal), Snæfellsjökull (which is a glacier on the western edge of Iceland) and Surtshellir (a large Icelandic cave once occupied by exiled bandits and criminals around the year 1000 ad.).
