Amaseffer

Amaseffer is a progressive metal band from Tel Aviv, Israel. The band also incorporates middle eastern, oriental and symphonic sounds, with lyrics in English and quotations from the Bible in Hebrew. In 2004, Erez Yohanan had an idea to bring the Exodus to life. After being joined by Yuval Kramer and Hanan Avramovich, Amaseffer was born and work began on the debut album, which is the first in a trilogy. The trio contacted Andy Kuntz (Vanden Plas, Abydos), who agreed to sing for the band, but delays and other issues left him unable to complete his work on the album. The band then turned to Mats Levén, who joined and recorded his vocals for the otherwise finished album. Kobi Farhi (Orphaned Land) and Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy) were also among the guests to also appear on the album. After signing with InsideOut Music, Amaseffer's debut was released June 6, 2008 in Israel, Germany, Switzerland and Austria, June 9 in the rest of Europe and June 24 in the rest of the world. Later in the year, Amaseffer began to shoot and edit two videos for the album, (Slaves For Life and The Burning Bush). Directed by Tal Engelstein (195dB), both videos will have two versions - full length and shorter edits. In December 2008, Slaves For Life was named 2008 Top Metal Album after a readers' poll at USA Progressive Music. As Amaseffer Soundtrack Productions, the band recorded the soundtrack for Altalena, with more soundtracks to come later. About Amaseffer: Israel is one of the most ex...
