Astropilot


Astropilot is an alias of Russian psybient music composer Dmitriy Redko. Redko has been composing soundscapes since 2000. The project started with a psydub style on his debut album Fruits of the Imagination, as well as contributions on many albums and compilations released worldwide on various labels. Over the years, Redko's music has evolved into a more spacy and progressive style and ranges from deep space ambient to atmospheric uptempo. Nowadays, his style comprises two main genres: space ambient and progressive chillout/midtempo. He is one of the leading and most traveled artists from the Russian and Ukrainian psychedelic scenes. Astropilot plays at many international festivals, outdoors and indoors events in Russia, Ukraine, Australia, Greece, France, Portugal, Israel, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Czech republic, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Belorussia. Since 2010, compositions from his projects have been used in the famous iPhone/iPad/iPod apps 'Solar Walk' and 'Star Walk'. In 2012, Dmitriy moved to Kyiv, Ukraine and hosted a series of successful audio-visual shows with ambient music and fulldome technologies. In 2013, Astropilot composed an original space ambient score for Event Horizon, a full-dome real-time environment with installations mimicking the solar system and the universe.
