Dal★Shabet is a stylisation of Dal Shabet (달샤벳), a six-member South Korean girl group with members: Park Miyeon (박미연 - aka Serri), Cho Ja Young (조자영 - aka Ah Young), Bae Woohee (배우희 - aka Woohee), Yang Jung Yoon (양정윤 - aka Jiyul, Cho Ka Eun (조가은 - aka Gaeun) and Cho Subin (조수빈 - aka Subin). They débuted with a music video for Supa Dupa Diva (3 Jan 2011). The band was created by E-Tribe through their label Happy Face Entertainment. Promotions for Supa Dupa Diva began on 6 Jan 2011, on M! Countdown. The song proved to be quite successful as it topped many real time and music station charts for the majority of its promotional period. Supa Dupa Diva was later voted upon by various celebrities in a survey as the second most addicting song of 2011, as well as having the second most popular choreography. On May 24th, 2012, former leader Viki announced that she would be leaving the group to pursue solo activities. On December 8th, 2015, members Jiyul and Gaeun left the group to focus on acting and fashion, respectively. December 13th, 2017 saw the rest of Dalshabet, aside from Woohee, leave Happyface Ent. This meant that Dalshabet was no longer managed by a traditional k-pop agency. However, Woohee and Serri would compete on KBS The Unit - a competition reality show which aimed to give failed idols a second chance.
