Hip-Hop

Rap/Hip-Hop group from Congo-Brazzaville now most active in Europe. It was to revalue the hip hop culture of entire Africa, but particularly that of Central-Africa, that Fredy, Steve and Kim created Fresk. They form an authentic movement blending the traditional music of Central-Africa, which uses vocals as percussion, and particularly of Congo-Brazzaville, but also jazz and underground hip hop of the United States. Thanks to its original and varying sonority this group is the new hip hop colour of Central-Africa. It is composed of artists that can boast ten years of musical experience and professional carreers. For the topics of their songs, they draw inspiration from African daily life talking about love, unity, misery and world tribulations. The songs are composed in a lyrical and occasionally comical style and in several African languages, such as Lari, Kituba, Mbochi, Lingala (Congo-Brazza), Sango of Central-Africa (Bangui) and French. Currently Fresk consists of four artists including a singer, two rappers and a DJ. Read more on Last.fm.
