GUMX


GumX is famous Korean Punk Band. Members consisted of: Youngwon Lee (Vocal, Guitar), Goonyung Lee (Bass, Backup Vocal), and Gun Choi (Drum). They formed the band under the name "Gum" in 1998, meaning you can chew us as much as you want (In korean 'chew' also means talking crap about something) and afterwards changed to GumX in 2002, meaning Don't talk back to us anymore. Their very first album What's Been Up was successful in Korea. Lyrics were in English but one song, which was in Korean. They were invited to Fuji Rock Festival 03' in Japan for the first time in Korean Rock History. In 2004, released their second album, Green Freakzilla. It was released in Korean in Korea first and then re-released in Japan in English. All the members finished their military service in 2007. In 2008, They released third album 'Old' in Japan. GumX is still ongoing in 2024, albeit with a (mostly) new lineup. The current lineup as of December 2024 is Yongwon Lee (Vocal, Guitar), Yoshi Nagashima (Bass, Backup Vocal) and Yuto Miyazaki (Drums, Backup Vocal) They released a new EP "Spam Buddy" in November of 2024.
