Gaylord


There are at least two band that use the name Gaylord. 1) A psychedelic surf metal band from Rochester, New York and 2) A black metal band. 1) Gaylord were a psychedelic metal band from Rochester, New York from 1995 until 2009. Touching on punk, metal, jazz, funk and surf rock stylistically, Gaylord is propelled by the guitars of Core Atoms and the ferocious jazz drumming of Andrew Verstraete, as well as the bass/vocal work of Jeff Steverson. The trio are a three-man mobile party unit. They produced seven albums, Sparkling Cool (1996), Rootbeer & Mayonnaise (1998), Drop a Bomb on a Town of Fried Bologna (2000), The Password (2002), Tsunami (2004) and Resplendent Locution (2007). They also produced a compilation, Gayest Hits (2006). They broke up in 2009. Atoms and Verstraete went on to form the progressive metal band Zruda and in 2016 Atoms and Dailor reunited to create the Progressive Synth Metal band Arcadea. 2) Gaylord is a black metal band.
