Jami

90s

Jasna Milenković Jami (this nickname is made up from the first syllabuses of her name and surname) is a serbian pop/folk singer. She started her career in the early 90s and quickly gained popularity. She is known for her provocative and suggestive, yet not vulgar style and urban styled songs. She was among the first singers in the serbian scene to use her feminine charms in order to promote her music. Her most known song include ''Čokolada'' (Chocolate), ''Šibica'' (The Safety Match), ''Kao da me nema'' (As if I don't exist), ''Više od druga'' (More than a friend), ''Dugme'' (Button), ''Divlja mačka'' (Wild cat), and her most recent ''Sex'', which promoted a new eurodance/disco electronic style, unlike her more folkish albums before. She was born in the 60s in Dorćol, a part of Belgrade and was a successful athlete in her youth. The late Minimaks helped her in her career, as well as a supposedly affective relation with Milo Đukanović (current president of Montenegro). She was married to Peđa, but is now divorced. She has a daughter with him. She currently lives in Belgrade.
