The GDR-Punkrock legend from Dresden! Influced mostly by the UK Punk Scene and their radio with bands like the clash, ramones and sex pistols, the punk era rose in the GDR from 1980 to 90, a lot of punkbands arised. Examples are: Paranoia, Schleim-Keim, die fanatischen frisöre, l'attentat, mandata, Skeptiker, planlos, Freygang and lots of other bands. At the early 80ies, Paranoia was founded. A lot of punks in Dresden still have a LP of them today, so it survived the first generation. Paranoia disbanded in the Mid-80ies because the ministers of culture didnt give them a concert permisson. Which was very comon in the GDR, bands like schleim keim, l'attentat etc.. played all gig's illegal in the underground and in churches. They reformed in 1986 with a new singer.They kept a distance to the political punk, but they didn't forget their roots. After writing some new songs about the human thyself, they got permissons to play concert's in the GDR. With Songs like Rudi or Kriegslied they reported their opinion, but without consequences. Kaltfront definated a new kind of punk. A few calls it Punk'n'Roll because you hear the influence of Rock'n'Roll. After a few changes in bandpositions the last singer Kannae fled '89 from Praque in the West and the rest of the band decided to disband.
