Khaossia


Ethno Ensemble from Salento, South Italy. The Ensemble was born in 2005 in Cremona by the several and continous proposals of pubblic and private institutions and of single lovers of this musical genre, who would like to number, even in Lombardy, a band which at the best could represents the Salento, with its pecular traditions. The Ensemble is a branch of the Ceili Band The Buskers, Irish Traditional Music. Both the bands aim to be the wagon for exchanging different cultures and different people, believing that music is the most important enriched and increased value. That's why the spreading of the popular music tradition of Salento and the Irish one seems to be instinctive and direct. In approaching and reproducing this particular genre of popular music there is a deep respect of the same tradition's origins and features, beyond the mere and pure show: many of the band elements has studied and, someone else is still studying, ethnomusicology at the University of Cremona. Khaossia constantly collaborate with Attraversarte, Project of the Young Politics Councillorship of Cremona, by which they have organised many lives and dance and music stages. Successfull critics come to the band during the just gone summer 2005 tour, all over the Italy and Europe, too. The band has been selected to open the eighth edition of the famed festival La Notte della Taranta 2005 (The Night of the Taranta) in Corigliano d?Otranto (Lecce).
