Philip Kressin (Born in Frankfurt a.M., Germany) is a classically trained composer and multi-instrumentalist. He performs as a solo artist under the name Kirt and is founder and lead singer of the band Neon Legion. Kirt combines elements of rock, indie pop, electronic music and orchestral music - a unification of tradition and the future. While being a solo artist, he collaborates with various other artists. The album was recorded and mixed at Black Solaris Studios owned by Uwe Lulis (Grave Digger, Rebellion) in a second world war bunker in Frankfurt, Germany. The name of the studio is derived from the intense isolation one experiences in the interior of the bunker and this is reflected in the vast wall paintings of the universe in the interior. In this environment Cyan was recorded and mixed. When the recordings were completed, Kirt took Cyan to Buenos Aires, Argentina to complete the production of the album. The artwork and photography were also produced in Argentina as well as 2 music videos and various tour documentaries. As Cyan was a studio album and entirely recorded by himself, Kirt had no band to play with live.
