Korn


Korn (stylised as KoЯn) is an American nu metal band from Bakersfield, California. It was formed in 1993 by James "Munky" Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu and David Silveria, former members of L.A.P.D. The current line-up consists of Shaffer (guitar), Brian "Head" Welch (guitar), Jonathan Davis (vocals) and Ray Luzier (drums), who replaced Silveria in 2007. Korn is widely regarded as one of the leading bands associated with the development and popularisation of the nu metal genre. The band recorded the demo "Neidermayer's Mind" in 1993, distributing it to record companies and members of the public. Its self-titled debut album, "Korn", was released in 1994, followed by "Life Is Peachy" in 1996. Commercial success increased with "Follow the Leader" (1998) and "Issues" (1999), both of which reached number one on the Billboard 200. Later releases included "Untouchables" (2002), "Take a Look in the Mirror" (2003), "See You on the Other Side" (2005), an untitled album (2007), "Korn III: Remember Who You Are" (2010), "The Path of Totality" (2011), "The Paradigm Shift" (2013), "The Serenity of Suffering" (2016), "The Nothing" (2019) and "Requiem" (2022). The compilation album "Greatest Hits Vol. 1" was released in 2004, marking the end of the band's recording contract with Immortal Records and Epic Records.
