Madee

There are two groups called Madee. One from Spain, one from Tanzania. Madee is one of the most sensitive bands in spanish indie scene. They have been together for almost ten years with different names and different influences, but their best project, Madee, started in 2002 with the irruption of such a mighty album as Songs from Cydonia, that not only made them sign up for BCore but also made them create Cydonia Records, one of Barcelona's most known labels. Their special taste for dark, moody, melancholic atmospheres, somewhere between Sunny Day Real Estate and Echo & The Bunnymen, lead them to a step further with second album Secret Chamber (2003), with a wider range of rock influences and wonderful songs like Clumsy or Economy. But it was their definitive Orion's belt (2004), recorded in Chicago's Engine Studios, with collaborations such as Giant Sand's Susan Voeltz, that proved their outstanding position in spanish indie scene. Their spanish tours with Girls VS Boys, The fire theft or Minus The Bear left all the audiences openmouthed by their ability to move and create states of pure emotion, and their biographic DVD We should take our chances shows the huge tallent of this six-piece band.
