Miocene
Formed in 1998 in London, UK, Miocene were an influential progressive metal band who were among the first to truly embrace and regurgitate the emergent Intelligent Dance Music (IDM) culture in the capital. A typical listen will span everything from technical polyrhythmic mathcore to dark ambience, difficult at times but definitely unique, honest and massively imaginative. Three releases, Refining The Theory (2000), Cellular Memory (2002) and A Perfect Life With A View Of The Swamp (2006) chart their progress from bright eyed nu-metal upstarts to progressive underground legends.
