Raymond, negreto (meaning black grandson in Spanish), popularly known as reto, is a 16-year-old Dominican artist and DJ from Philadelphia, Pennslyvania. Reto started making music as a common hobby in March 2022, releasing “FIRST SONG yea all of da dome (iayze 556 goofy ahh beat)”. Reto would drop songs every other day, dropping songs he considered were ‘satirical’ and ‘just for fun’. Reto would diss people from his school, creating a small local fanbase. Around October 2022, reto started to take music a tiny bit more seriously and started to learn how to properly mix his vocals and songs. Reto dropped “im trying 2 let go” produced by Fuckcru and steadily created a small fanbase in the underground community, getting reposted by popular underground artist, xaviersobased. Around this time, reto started working with a fellow common collaborator, forestwlkr, creating three small mixtapes titled, “FOREST TAPES: VOLUME 1”, “FOREST TAPES: VOLUME 2”, and “FOREST TAPES: VOLUME 3 [THANKSGIVING EDITION]”. Reto published his first album, “my niggas real y'all niggas fake” on December 22, 2022. It shows Reto’s versatility in making groovy songs. 2023 was when Reto improved as an overall artist. Reto published an EP titled, “upcoming spring” on March 21, 2023. It features production by a popular collaborator in Reto’s work, jj1da, and two songs having an alternative indie vibe, showing more of Reto’s potential to become a versatile artist. In t...
