Niche


1) The Niche is a nightclub in Sheffield, England. Their 11 year existence has perhaps impacted on the wakening of the UK's underground (bassclub) garage scene. Niche features a variety of songs, ranging from Ace Of Base's "Cruel Summer" to Ne-Yo's "So Sick". 2) Niche was a small-time South African group. They formed early 2006 and was of the progressive rock genre. Notably, they were an acoustic set and never incorporated electric guitars. The band's acoustic sound was reinforced with female vocals. They also featured djembes in their music. The members were heavily influenced by Incubus, Tool, and Jimi Hendrix (among others). They released an EP titled "Change" and recorded it in a single day. This day was also the first time the entire band played together. In fact, on that day, the vocalist (Nina) met the bassist (Pappie) for the first time. The band never performed live although members were involved in various other live performances. They broke up in late 2006. 3) Niche is a five piece band hailing from Savannah, GA. They play 70’s influenced rock with Southern and psychedelic tendencies. The band was formed in 2009 by childhood friends and founding members Justin Dick (guitar/vocals) and Michael Redmond (bass/vocals). The current lineup includes Corey Barhorst (Hammond/synths), Lee Vallier (drums/percussion) and Kristopher Maedke-Russell (guitar/vocals).
