R.A.P.


There are at least three bands called R.A.P.: 1) R.A.P. (Reggae Against Politics) - a reggae band from Gliwice, Poland, founded in 1985 by musicians formerly from Śmierć Kliniczna, a very well known Polish punk band (who also mixed punk with reggae and jazz influences) which broke up at that time. Even though R.A.P. never released a record before their break-up in 1987, bootlegs and pirated recordings survived long after the group disbanded. After a few years, in the 90’s and 00’s, some of their material, which formerly circulated only in underground circles, found its way onto releases made by Zima Records - including three limited edition 7” EPs released in 2009 and 2010. Even though the band existed for a very short time, their music lives on among collectors and fans and they are considered to be one of the best reggae groups in the history of Polish reggae music.
