Resplandor


Resplandor is a shoegaze/dream pop band from Lima, Peru. Biography from their official site: The band was brought to life in early 1996, with a sound influenced by shoegaze and noise pop, recording some songs that were published in 1998 on the Sol de hiel ep. The idea behind Resplandor was to create an exciting music with different beats, feelings and textures. The band's debut single Ninfa firmly established them on the music scene, receiving great reviews. The long-awaited debut live performance was hailed a success after a strong sold out audience packed at the Bauhaus Club. After several gigs along 1999, the band got into the studio to record their debut album Elipse that was published in February 2000. Some songs came to be part of different compilations, such as Picnic Basket from Shelflife, Orange Pop of the Losingtoday magazine, Atlantic Flowers (Clairecords, Alison Records and Midsummer Madness), Test Tones Vol. 1,1 (Clairecords/Tonevendor) and in the tribute to Slowdive published by So Soft. Resplandor hooked up with Alison Records from Germany in 2002, which released Ambar in September 2002 receiving great reviews followed by a tour in Spring 2003 of the East Coast of the USA. They also played at the Fuga Jurásica 5 Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In April 2005, Lunar Discos from Spain published a tribute to Echo & The Bunnymen titled Play the Game which includes the version of The Killing Moon from Resplandor.
