Ruin


There are at least 10 artists or bands that go by the name of Ruin. 1) RUIN were hardcore punk rock contemporaries of the 1980s. This was the band that used the name originally. They toured the continental U.S.A. They were acknowleged by Leonard Cohen in SPIN for covering his "Master Song." Maximum Rock'n'Roll ran a feature interview with the band and covered their performances and releases. They contributed to compilation albums and Ruin's vinyl releases of that time, "HE-HO" and "Fiat Lux" were later compiled for a CD reissue in 1996 titled, "Songs of Reverie and Ruin." This stimulated a brief reunion during 1996-1997, which resulted in a performance as the headling act at the Trocadero in Philadelphia. Recordings still show up on ebay from time to time.
