Basque musical group founded in 2001 by Iñigo Muguruza, The group's name is inspired by a poem by Joseba Sarrionandia 'Sagarroiak. At first it was a rock and hardcore power trio. With the addition of Asier Ituarte (trombone) they turned into a sound of ska-punk and later they mixed rock and some Caribbean rhythms, like the sound of the previous Iñigo's group: Joxe Ripiau. The idea began to take place when Iñigo found himself discarding a lot of songs that did not fit with the style of Joxe Ripiau, because Joxe Ripiau is like the sun, in that place Sagarroi is the other side, the shadow. On March 25, 2010 Sagarroi gave the following statement: After 10 years of artistic activity and 5 albums, the band decided to terminate the project. Read more on Last.fm.
