Shambhala (a.k.a. Shambhala777) is the one-man project of Chad Pikschus from Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. The music could be described as experimental melodic metal, with some psychedelic and tribal elements. In addition to standard drums, some non-traditional percussion instruments are used, including the gourd rattle, tambourine, and djembe hand-drum. There are sometimes up to 4 layers of guitar at one time, with a variety of effects such as wah, flanger, and backwards looping.
