Shanneyganock
Shanneyganock are one of Newfoundland’s most identifiable bands. They've been a fixture in the local and traditional scene for almost a decade. Shanneyganock was never really like any other band on the Atlantic scene: they don't make videos or dress in Queen St. fashions, they don't have a light show, and they don't worry about their 'image'. They are big, burly men who know the meaning of hard work and the power of music to transcend all trouble. Shanneyganock doesn't sound like anyone else, either. Born of a love of classic Newfoundland folk acts like Figgy Duff and Ryan's Fancy, their music embodies the power and pathos found in the best of the Island's traditions. 2007 saw the release of their 5th album, Flong Out the Flag.
