Slapface


Slapface are a four piece ska-punk band from the city of Salisbury, UK. They blend fast punk/hardcore choruses with contrasting ska beats which never fail to get the crowd moving. The bands current line-up is as follows: David Shaw - Guitar/Vocals Oliver Anders - Bass Guitar/Backing Vocals Harry Wood - Trumpet/Guitar/Backing Vocals Tom Shearing - Drums The bands line-up has changed dramtically since it was first started, the only original member being Olly as a 9 piece rock band with an average age of 10 with the name of loctus. When dave started 2 years later they progressed to a three piece ska/punk band and started giging. With many charity shows, pubs and village hall gigs under their belt Slapface recorded their first E.P. entitled "Some Of The Better Bits". They then had a big fall out with then drummer Gary who consequently left the band. A few weeks later a new drummer was enlisted temperarily by the name of Marz. Although problems then arrised because not only did Marz live in Winchester which is a fair bus ride fom Salisbury, but he was also the drummer in rival 3-iece Salisbury Punk-Ska band One Wet Nun. As Marz's band threatened to kick him out he had to leave Slapface to carry on with One Wet Nun. Subsequently, Tom was enlisted on drums and the band started to play bigger gigs with better, more famous bands such as Whitmore, Uncle Brian, The Grit and Pama International.
