Lee Sun-mi (Hangul: 선미; born May 2, 1992 in Iksan, North Jeolla, South Korea), referred to as Sunmi, is a South Korean singer. She debuted in 2007 as a member of South Korean girl group Wonder Girls and left from the group in January 2010 to pursue her academic career. After three years hiatus from the music scene, Sunmi started her career as a soloist in August 2013 with her first digital single, 24 Hours. It was the lead single off her debut extended play, Full Moon (2014). The song peaked at number two on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart, number three on Billboard's Korea K-pop Hot 100, and number thirteen on Billboard World Digital Chart, while the album charted at number twelve. In 2015, Wonder Girls returned to music scene after two years hiatus with band formation and Sunmi also confirmed to re-joining the group after departure in 2010. In August, the group's third and final album Reboot was released, with Sunmi co-writing and co-producing three of its tracks. The group later disbanded in 2017 after Sunmi and Yeeun decided to not renewed their contract with JYP Entertainment. She signed with MakeUs Entertainment and continued her solo career. She released a single album titled Sunmi Special Edition (Gashina) as well as the title track of the name same on August 22, 2017.
