Supersnazz

Supersnazz are a Japanese garage rock band from Tokyo. The band is composed of Spike (vocals), Tomoko (bass), Marky (guitar) and Greg (drums). They were previously an all-girl band with Kanako on guitar and Skinnie Minnie on drums and formed in 1990. They have released 5 studio albums and been featured in various compilations such as Tokyo Trashville! and a Robert Johnson tribute album. Supersnazz released their first EP, I Wanna Be Your Love, in 1992. They quickly followed up with their debut album on Sub Pop in 1993, Superstupid!, which garnered them attention from Sony in Japan. In 1994 Skinny Minny left the band to be replaced by Hisayo of the Sleaze Sisters. In 1997, after extensive touring in Japan and the United States, the band released their sophomore album, Devil Youth Blues, on the Osaka-based indie label Time Bomb. Later that year, yet another drummer change happened and Hisayo was replaced with the band's first male member, Shoe from Teengenerate. In 1998, Supersnazz released their third album, Diode City, and quickly followed it up with The Barbarockets in 1999. In 2001, the band switched labels yet again, this time to indie label Loft Records. Also that year, the band released their fifth album, Rock-O-Matic. Despite not releasing a studio album since 2001, the band remains active and tours the United States and Japan frequently. Read more on Last.fm.
