T.h.o.e.m.


T.h.o.e.m. is the creation of Justin Lipscomb who was born in Columbus, OH. T.h.o.e.m. stands for The House of Electronic Minions. The name came to him out of a daydream of wanting to be surrounded by hundreds of cables and instruments, engulfed by the green glowing hue of LCDs coming from the electronic equipment as he manipulated sounds out of them to tell his story. Since Justin was allowed to pick up an instrument in the fourth grade, he has been dreaming of making his own music. For most of his adolescence, he fell asleep to 89.7, the local classical music radio station. In high school he was part of the jazz, marching, and concert band. In these groups he found a safe haven for his musically inclined mind. He developed his ear, drinking in the vast amounts of music the three different styles offered. Toward the end of high school and into college he gained exposure to a more diverse music selection. Bjork, DJ Shadow, and Radiohead were almost always in his CD player. His unique emotion and personality can be heard in all of his songs which is a hallmark of his style which combines, Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock, Classical, Post-Rock, Ambient, Experimental, Electronica just to name a few. He has also recorded material under the name Minus Theme which reflects more of his ambient and experimental style. Read more on Last.fm.
