At NYU, while studying under renowned composer Justin Dello Joio, he was offered the Composer-in-Residence position with the New York University Symphony, and upon graduation, won the University's high honors in Classical Composition. All four of his large scale symphonic works have premiered with local New York symphonies. Sanders is active in the pop music world as well, writing songs, scores, and arrangements for other recording artists. He has scored 15 short films, including most recently a commission for Oscar Nominated Documentary Filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady for the Sundance Institute. He has contributed music to artist releases and remixes including Wyclef Jean, Niia, Local Natives, Frankie Rose, Snowmine, and others.
