Tavito


Luís Otávio de Melo Carvalho, better known as Tavito (Belo Horizonte, January 26, 1948 - São Paulo, February 26, 2019), was a Brazilian singer, musician and composer. Some of his compositions became great successes, such as Rua Ramalhete (with Ney Azambuja) and Casa no Campo (with Zé Rodrix). He was also known for the jingle Coração Verde e Amarelo, written alongside Aldir Blanc, who became a theme in the Rede Globo broadcasts of the victorious Brazilian team at the 1994 World Cup. Tavito was part of the band Som Imaginário and at the end of the 1970's embarked on a solo career. He produced albums by artists like Marcos Valle, Renato Teixeira, Selma Reis and Sá & Guarabyra.
