Towie


With a Spanish father and English mother, Towie was born in Blackpool (U.K) in 1981 where he grew up, and completed his studies. During those years he learnt the basic’s of DJing ‘House’ music outside of school and playing at parties whenever he got the chance. After exploring new territories, new music and some of the biggest clubs nights in the area at that time, he targeted a different scene, the dance scene, and winning a DJ competition earned him his residency at Blackpool’s dance venue, Insomnia. It became clear to Towie that DJing was his dream and with a keen interest in learning the techniques of production and engineering he moved to London in 2000 and began his studies at the highly acclaimed SAE Technology College. Here he gained vast amounts of knowledge on the theories and practices into music production, recording artists, editing and electronic based production using MIDI. After successfully gaining his Diploma he moved back to the North but this time Manchester was his location. He enrolled at the Technics DJ and impressed by his character and skills, the Academy offered him the position of substitute tutor after his course, which he happily accepted. He played at venues such as Sankeys, Ascension, North, Sofa and through a friend was introduced to Fergie (Excentric / Great Stuff / Radio 1) who asked him to play at his own Excentric nights at the infamous venue Turnmills in London.
