I'm Kevin Balke, also known as 'V-Axys'. I was born and I still live in Germany. And I make music. I've been composing music of various genres for years and finally decided to take my music to new grounds. Since doing so in 2013 I've mostly been working as a video game composer. (http://www.v-axys.com/credits for a full list of my credits.) But what inspired me to start composing music? Well, I simply grew up with music. I just couldn't help it - my dad had to show me every good piece of music the second half of the 20th century had to offer. While the main influences might certainly come from video games I've played back in the day, I also love to listen to all kinds of music genres. Pop, rock, hip-hop, metal, jazz, techno - anything, really! You know that annoying kid who just can't sit calmy because he always needs to tap rhythms with his fingers or hum melodies? Well, that's me. So I basically draw my inspirations from everywhere across the board. (And maybe there's also something in that German beer we're drinking here. I always thought there might be something fishy going on with that stuff.) Whatever. I always had a distinct affinity for anything music-related that set me apart from the people who strived to become doctors, lawyers or salesmen. I always felt a bit different.
