Wemerson Oliveira better known as his stage name Wem was originally born in Brasilia, Brazil however at the age of four moved to the United States. People early on realized Wem was very different from most children his age. Teachers, peers, and his family members easily identified his unique thought process and creativity from the early age of five. He didn’t fit in with most children because as most agreed he was unable to relate to his peers due to him being ahead of his time. His outlook on life has been unaffected by society pressures and Wem continues to live his life in a positive and care free environment where he can create timeless music and believes he is the living example that anything is possible so long as you follow your dreams and are willing to work hard for them. His musical background has stretched as far back as age five when he would sing cover songs for family and friends. Wem began writing music at age twelve, and has attributed much of his inspiration to Prince, Eminem, Big L, Tupac, Phil Collins, Kanye West, as well as several bands such as Motley Crue and Chicago. He infiltrated himself in the rap industry and quickly rose to become one of the most talked about up and coming artists of 2011. Wem feels that music allows artists the capture their exact moment in time and in a short amount of time has created a large following across the country.
