MC Squared and DJ Jiles began performing together in school assemblies at the age of ten, doing wonderful recorder ensembles and fantastic renditions of 'Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star' in front of at least three excited parents and two goats. MC Squared's musical ability has not improved since. They were both raised in a small town which boasted great musical talents, such as the guitarist of King Harvest and Rough Bark (local folk band). So it is no wonder that these two went on to achieve such great things. However it was in 2005 when Triple J's favourite comedian/TV personality John Safran came to their college for a radio interview that they formed XLogic. We aptly titled our band after a brand of Chickenfeed DVD players We came 7th describes DJ Jiles talking about their debut live performance in the Hobart College Idol competition. To be fair there were only eight people in the competition. ...and one of them was mentally unstable. Says MC Squared. I'm fairly certain it was rigged though DJ Jiles replies. Yeah, we're sure someone bribed him with biscuits. MC Squared laughs. They rapped a version of the song Peck (written by the duo about a former maths teacher and his crazy antics) in front of most of the school, and a dog.
