BUDDHISTSON are: TAKUYA SHIMA - VO/GT MARCY - DR YUMI - KEY YAS UENUMA - BA HIROSHI YOSHII - GT The BUDDHISTSON sound is ethereal and raw, with soaring vocals sometimes melting into the riffs and synths of their emotionally charged melodies. SHIMA (lead vocals/guitar) and MARCY (drums) started the band with YAS (bass) in the summer of 1999. SHIMA named the band BUDDHISTSON...because he loves BUDDHA. Their 1st single was titled TOWERS and their 1st album was titled where are you going to bury the contents of your mind?. The album was released by indie label NO CODE, that owns start today co.ltd. (http://www.starttoday.co.jp/), in NOV 2000. Guitarist YOSHII joined the band a week before their 1st recording... BUDDHISTSON signed up with label LASTRUM co.ltd. in 2002 and released 2nd album tittled yes, but I'm alive in FEB 2003. It was at this time that keyboardist YUMI joined their ranks before the 2nd recording... They were invited to play at Baybeats Festival in Singapore in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and shared the stage with BRANDTSON in 2002, THE GLORIA RECORD in 2003 and LAST DAYS OF APRIL in 2004. BUDDHISTSON started their own label named MUSIC FOR GORILLAS and released a Split CD with WHENCE HE CAME (HONG KONG) tittled THIS IS WHERE WE RISE in AUG 2004... The duo then toured Asian countries such as JAPAN, SINGAPORE, BANGKOK, THAILAND and KL, MALAYSIA in JUL 2004.
