Ceylonese descent Jason 'Lankino Bandara is currently based in Auckland, New Zealand claims musical patronage in Santiago, Cuba. The urban artist blends hip hop, reggaeton with Afro-Caribbean electro dance music to form a unique sound that is widely enjoyed by English, Spanish and Portuguese speakers around the world. His native island of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) was a former domain of Portuguese empire since the early 1500s and his musical and cultural heritage took form from these roots. Known for popularizing urban Latin music in Auckland and also for linking Ceylon to the larger Latin world through music and common culture. His affiliation with the formidable underground music machine Trespeso of Cuba has placed him well in US industry where Trespeso music was already featured in major US netowork TC series such as the L Word, Burn Notice and recently, Lankino's single A la E Mama was featured in the movie soundtrack Surfing With the Enemy by Polaris Global Media and Venice the Menace, Venice Beace, CA, USA.
