やなわらばー


やなわらばー (Yanawaraba) is a japanese duet consisting of 東里梨生 (Aizato Rio) & 石垣優 (Ishigaki Yuu) who debuted in 2003. Both girls play guitar and harmonize on their songs, and their lyrics are written in the Okinawan dialect. Official Website: http://www.ya-na.net Its name やなわらばー is a okinawan dialect for naughty kids. Actually it's a dialect of Okinawa main island, which is slightly different from a dialect of their birthplace Ishigaki island. Ishigaki Yuu plays San-shin, a traditional Okinawan guitar, which gives their songs Okinawan flavor, despite of lyrics in standard Japanese and pop-oriented melody line. Read more on Last.fm.
