古今亭志ん生


KOKONTEI Shinsyo 5th (五代目 古今亭志ん生) is one of the best rakugoka in Shōwa period. The name “KOKONTEI Shinsho” usually represents the 5th. He was born in Kanda, Kamezumi town, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, Japan on June 28, 1890. His real name is Minobe Gouzou. His first son is KINGENTEI Basyo 10th (十代目 金原亭馬生), and second son is KOKONTEI Shinchou 3rd (三代目 古今亭志ん朝). Many rakugo stories he perform are evaluated the best performance of the others. Among his wonderful performance, the KAEN-DIKO(火焔太鼓) is called his specialty and his perfomance of this story is second to none. He is often compared with the 8th KATSURA Bunraku(八代目 桂文楽) about their characters and performances. Read more on Last.fm.
