Lala Hsu (Traditional Chinese: 徐佳瑩, Simplified Chinese: 徐佳莹, Pinyin: Xu Jiaying), born on Dec 20th 1984, is a singer from Taiwan, best known as the winner of Season 3 of One Million Star and the Best New Artist of 21st Golden Melody Awards. The elements of Hsu's song are in the integration of Taiwanese Opera, which creating a familiar, and refreshing feeling. Flexible use of Mandarin and Taiwanese language speech, making the song become natural and smooth. For the melody, the main pace is usually fast paced song. The chorus is mostly clear, emotional and memorable. In the accompaniment and harmony parts, she tried to create a unique way of chord progression and transfer mode which are many variations of existing popular music. On May 29, 2009, Hsu issued her debut album creation LaLa Hsu. This album become the finalists of the 21th Golden Melody Awards in six pop music category including Best Song of the Year Award (身騎白馬), Award for Best Mandarin Album (LaLa Hsu), Best New Artist Award, etc. Finally, Hsu win the 'Best New Artist' award.
