Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan (2001 – present) Nakagawa Akinori (中川晃教) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and actor. He was born Nov. 5th, 1982, and was born and raised in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. He began composing songs when he was an elementary school student. He worked on his music career while completing school, eventually attending Tōhoku Bunka Gakuen University. In 2001, he made his debut with the single I WILL GET YOUR KISS, which was used as the theme song to the popular TBS drama Maria (「マリア」). The single was a hit with sales of over 200,000 copies. He released his second single, I say good-bye, later that year, which was used as the theme song to the drama Saigo no Kazoku (「最後の家族」). He released his debut self-titled album the same year. In 2002, he appeared in his first musical Mozart (「モーツアルト」), his first musical, in the eponymous lead role, and received many awards and accolades for his portrayal. He reprised the role again in 2005 and 2007, and has appeared in many other musicals. His last music release was his November 2007 single Owaranai Christmas (「終わらないクリスマス」). Presently, he is appearing in the drama Konkatsu・Rikatsu (「コンカツ・リカツ」) in his first television drama role.
