Kakothanasy is a brutal death metal band from Lausanne, Switzerland. The band was formed in 2012, with Florent Duployer on the drums and Lionel Testaz on the Guitar. The formation was joined by Julien Goebel on the vocals, with whom they recorded their first EP, called "Paradoxide" in 2014, released by Goatgrind Records. The formation got fully completed then by finding a bassist, Boris Masur. In 2017, the band had to go separate ways with Julien. Instead of finding a new singer, Florent and Lionel decided to take over the vocals themselves, and to keep the formation as a trio. After a long time of writing songs and practicing vocals as well as the instruments, they put out their first full length album, called "Dystomorph", also released by Goatgrind Records. After this album, Boris had to leave the band for personal reasons. In 2020, the band recruited Léo Zrehen as a new bassist, as well as an additional singer. With that formation, the band released a 2 tracks promo, called "Initiating the Primal Cognizing Display of Intrinsic Tangible Affliction". Everything self-produced. The band has now played gigs in great venues and festivals (Hellfest, Berlin Deathfest, UK Slam Fest, Rock The Hell, ...), along great acts of the genre, and is ready to do some more!
